Yes, I was saved as a 5 year old. And I have not regretted it for a minute. In fact I feel like maybe I was taught by a Children’s Church teacher who was CEF trained.
Once I had started to do more training with CEF I realized that I had seen some of the materials before! In fact, at one “garage sale” of older materials, I recognized two song visuals like I had seen them yesterday. I remembered clearly my intrigue with the song, “The Lord is My Shepherd” because the visuals were shaped like a sheep. I loved those black and white sheep as a 7 year old. I also remembered clearly how the visual for “Happiness is the Lord” turned by half pages instead of full pages. I can still sing that song…50 years later!
I wonder if it is because when I was introduced to that song, it was near the time my brother had been diagnosed with Leukemia. I don’t remember many details but I remember that song! I know it was a hard time in our family. I remember some of the struggles. Children need and are capable of the same hope in Jesus as adults are! “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:3
I’m so thankful for the teachers who brought me this message of hope! Won’t you consider reaching out to share the gospel and disciple the children around you?
